Heard Tosher 18’6” built by Gaffers and Luggers in 1980

A nice boat that competes with the more expensive Cornish Shrimpers. large

open cockpit with a small open backed coach-roof offering 2 berths or sheltered

seating. Her shallow draft allows access to the upper reaches of estuaries, and

with small beaching legs she can easily take the ground on a drying mooring or

for overnight camping trips.

The Tosher was based on a traditional local working boat from Mevagissey and

built in GRP by Terry Heard of Gaffers and Luggers of Mylor near Falmouth.

Gaff cutter rig on a deck stepped solid wooden mast in a galvanised tabernacle.

Wooden boom, gaff and bowsprit.

Sails include mainsail, new topsail, 2 x staysails and 2 x jibs.

Yanmar 1GM10 single cylinder diesel engine. Reconditioned in 2014.

Shaft drive to a centreline Darglow feathering propeller.

Built 2017 by Hartley Boats. white deck, mid-grey foredeck and thwart, a mid-grey non-slip floor, Oxford Blue hull, double waterline and white bottom. Features: good sails, tabernacle (with hoist for mast), easy furling jib, slab reefing mainsail, centre mainsheet, outboard pad, alloy mooring cleats and fairlead, large tidy bag, twin stainless bailers, padded toe straps, PVC over boom cover, bilge keel protection and twin cradle launching trolley on a 2019 combi road trailer in top condition.
